Can Artificial Intelligence replace the Web Content profession

Some may think yes, Chat GPT and Jasper produce intelligent content with an amazing accuracy of results.

But I say no. Writing is an art, not a functionality that can be implemented by A.I. When I write, I take the time to reflet, seek inspiration and discuss my topic with other people, just to have enough energy to give to my words. Now we all know the power of words and how putting them one to another in a different way can change their meanings. Writing reflects how you fee, it reflects emotions and a behind a will to make the reader reflect, act or think differently.

What the trends shows in most website is that the content is often oriented towards marketing and the aim to make the reader act. For that, you nee to gather information about what the person does, likes etc.. which robot are very good at as the websites we visit track our activities with cookies and other tools. Then the gathered information are used to sell ,influence and so forth. So as a marketing tool. I would say the AI can do the job in helping marketers to quickly draft a copy to publish on a company's website for advertisement, sales etc..

But when it comes to writing about a topic, there is no fear the Web Content profession will vanish one day, because the human brain goes beyond gathering information to produce a content.

What we humans do with our brains is more powerful and reflect the complexity of our Human Intelligence. Depending on our mood, our goal and our environment, we can write an article about something but with a different perspective. If you are a regular reader of the Reader's Digest you know what I talk about. If you have the love for words, and know how to appreciate a good book, a consistent research, you definitely are in the same mindset as I am. AI can only gather information that can help us have a start of inspiration that will lead us to write inspiring papers.

When you want to share an idea, it takes words to draw the picture, and this is where a writer is different than a robot. Robot can draw a picture from a word but not draw a picture or feeling from an idea.

I love writing, and I love research and new technologies, these two elements led me to study Web Content Editing 20 years ago.. and I am still here! So will I be writing in 20 years from now if I am still form this world. There is a lot to share through writing, and as long as humans have a brain, reflection and writing will still exist.

It's been a long time...

You must be wondering.. Where was she all this time.. Well, I was writing for others, proofreading for other, managing projects for others. And today here I am coming back to my love of writing..

At the age of 40, they say you need to do what you do best and start earning for it. So here I am trying to get back on freelancing as a writer and web content editor.

Technologies have evolved, people now create their own sophisticated website without any knowledge of coding and developers are turning more to AI and more complex services.. But what I noticed is that there is a fast growing demand of writers, editors and web content developers... something that Artificial Intelligence cannot do like the human can. This is where I am happy to be a literature lover and writer in this High Tech century, I feel safe. I feel the profession can offer so much more and for many many centuries to come.

I used to do research when I was at the university, I used to write articles of feelings, thoughts, perspective, strategy, all on paper. I still have to love of writing on paper, reading my copy again and again, share it with friends who just like me love to write.

I could have been a journalist but I wanted to learn more about what the web would offer us writers and got to graduate in web content and project editing, masters degree.

Today I am really at a point where I need to go back to what I do the  best, and start earning for it, gain more skills of technology and explore literature in a modern way, through digital marketing, advocacy and much much more.. After exploring what I could do all my career, I definitely am happy to know what I must do!

If you would like to challenge me or just need writing services, and just want to share you passion of writing, feel free to write to me at bineta.toure@gmail.com

See you there!

After many years writing articles, reflecting on the great idea that would caught the visitor's attention on a site and planning communication campaigns, I take a look back and notice that the web has made it easier for us today. After the xml integration technology there is the twitter style #connecting. Yes now it's all about connecting people from one area to another, and cross intellectual reflection to help people advance in their career.
Information is Network and the network verifies the information. People want to know people to have the correct information.

But as always there is the exception like e-how. I love this site because they show you tutorials on how to deal with many things in life. I also enjoy the fact that they have now translated it in French. Last time, I was on it I was reading an article about manipulation and how to deal with people that love to manipulate you.

I also like the experimental article. Those are the richest ones. They enable you to really benefit from other people's life experience and this is often found on blogs, and personal blogs.
Public websites, like social networks sites rarely have profound honest and useful content. It's like people want to share nothing. Well they share information, news but rarely experience. In social professional networks however we often have experts views on business life and relations based on their own experience. And I truly believe that this is what makes the success of coaching. It's learning based on true experience, so it caught the attention, and is useful. So I enjoy this type of content.

This leads me to ask : What really is information? Data? Is everything information? or is information what is useful. So then information is not objective. You would find something useful and take this as a good information. Something useful and not well said would be bad information. Information that is biased is false information; and information that is not useful, or that everyone already knows is not information... So how complicated is that LOL... I would love to have your views on this!

Joomla 1.7

They hate it? I love it! I am currently developing a site with this you can check here. For beginners you get a bit lost out there because everything is so flexible you can put articles where you wan and create categories the way you want and display menus and articles just the way you want... But what if you just don't know the right way to display things?

Well you have to know a bit of web content management if you want something clear and nice for your visitors to understand. But it is definitely a good CMS.

DRUPAL 7 has no secret

The best version as they say, and it has a lot to show I tell you. I have never been a Drupal fan but I have to surrender to the genie of the Drupal community developers. BIG APPLAUSE ! Truthfully.

I have worked on e-commerce solutions and standard drupal CMS and the very best of drupal is all in the blocks content.

This allows you to decide where your content has to be shown, and the menu are also very flexible. a bit like joomla.
My last project is still incomplete but just so you can get the chance to follow the evolution of a website with drupal.

The latest E-Marketing Predicted trends and analysis

The article from emarketings.org is really interesting in terms of prediction. As I analyse the movement of strategies and relationships in terms of marketing I understand that businesses have finally understood that it is the consumers thought that counts and not the product in itself. remeber whenn we talked about "people buy what you think not what you do"?

Consumers have reached a phase where manipulation is just so obvious to them, as they understand more and more where you wanna get to have them buy your product, that they understand they can also make businesses change their minds about their products.
And as businesses understand it is their advantage to sell what the consumers want, they change the type of relationship from a one way communication to a two way communication...

The best marketing lesson comes from APPLE inc.

This is a video of Ted demonstrating how it is true that "people don't buy what you do they buy what you believe!". The best lesson in terms of marketing that I have ever heard. So true. the key to success is not money and the right person and the right ideas. It is all about making people dream, believe in what you believe and therefore make them buy what you do. Martin luther King Didn't give the "I have a dream speach" rather the "I have a plan speach".

Watch TED's video

Working Solo

Working solo has couple of advantages. One of them is managing your time like you fell it.

Of course this requires a good discipline. However, it enables you to do more research so as to find ideas and give quality services to your clients.

I remember being a employee and working through the routine each day, I hardly had time to build more capacities and improve myself. I used to work from Monday to Saturday and we did not have any training program internally.

Anyway, have a bite at this article about being efficient as a freelance worker. With Simon Stapleton advices you can make your clients say "Wow!".

It's been a long time...

Hi Friends, first I apologize I haven't been a good bloggirl the last few months, well much work and so many new things in my life... Anyway. We've launched the second version of the microfinance portail in Senegal and we are working on Nigeria's and Burkina Faso's hoping they will be set soon. Take a look at the changements. Well you won't be able to compare this with the old one but anyway we've manage to have sommething colorful and alway s up to date. The main thing in web content management is to have updated information at least twice or thrice a week to keep your regular visitors coming and grap some new visitor's interest. So, take a tour on the project I've been working on for more than a year now :

Portail Microfinance and SENEGAL

what we've introduced here are the RSS feeds for people to put on their sites on personal page to keep uptodate with the information on the sector, we've managed to add some more mirofinance actors and to organized the profiles in a clearer structure by splitting old sections... Well you see it for yourself. I'm showing the website tomorow morning to the General Direction for the Decentralized Cooperation's representative From Belgium and in two more weeks to a group of investors in microfinance at the ministery. Wish me luck! Bineta TOURE

new horizons

I'm back! Hello bloggers and sorry for being absent such a long time (nearly two months). But I have been really busy and got lots of things to tell you about :

first of all the NGO where I was doing my training proposed me a job. Neat? yep, the problem? well someone else came up with a more interesting job long before i had finished my traing.
The kind of work is more of a communication and marketing work on the Internet. I should be working on-line and also off-line from time to time. The idea is more to hold the company's communication tools like it's websites, and to make a big noise on the web so to tell everyone that it's the best thing on earth. Well it will be pretty different from what I was doing back at the NGO but I trust I will learn new things from working daily with the Linux plateform and creating ads for the web, finding new promotion strategies ...and maybe more.
I will have to work in both english and french, and I'm supposed to begin next month. Now how about that?

See, told you I had been busy. Well I also presented my training and that went fine too, the jury was quite satisfied with my work and congratulated me on it. I got that on tape for my family back home. One of the members in the jury gongratulated me on the presentation, saying it was clear, that the work I did with the website for the cause of the development in poor countries was interesting and had never been made ... Well at least that's the meaning I caught from all the things that had been said.. The assistance had no questions and everyone got caught in the topic.

To conclude tonight, I should be back in Senegal in less than 10 days and will be discovering new horizons from the web industry.. I have couple of projects I may share with you later on.Take care
B.T.
